Altova MapForce 2007 is a visual data integration and Web services implementation tool. It maps between any combination of XML, database, flat file, EDI, and/or Web service, then converts data on-the-fly or auto-generates program code for use in your own data integration or Web services applications. Languages for code generation include: XSLT 1.0/2.0, XQuery, Java, C++, and C#.
Today, the ability to seamlessly exchange information between internal business units, customers, and partners is vital for success; yet most organizations store and exchange information in a variety of dissimilar formats, such as those used by EDI systems, flat files, databases, XML-based applications, and, increasingly, Web services. To efficiently leverage existing investments and interconnect business systems, organizations need the ability to map between these different data types and effectively convert their data in a standards-based, cost-effective manner.
Altova MapForce 2007 is a visual data mapping and Web services implementation tool. Supported formats include XML, databases, text/flat files, EDI, and Web services. Using MapForce, you can convert between the any of the supported formats and view the results immediately, or you can generate stylesheets and/or program code for recurrent transformations. You can also create new Web services based on WSDL files and the supported data formats. And, because MapForce is a visual tool, you can accomplish all of this using simple drag-and-drop functionality – without writing any code.
